Fallbrook Neighborhood Guide

Fallbrook is a town of about 30,534 people up in the north end of San Diego County, 55 miles away from the city. It’s quite remote and rural – Interstate-15 runs briefly along the eastern side of the town, and State Route 76 is about 5 miles south, so access is mainly through smaller roads. The relative isolation has given Fallbrook its own character, distinct from the rest of Southern California.

Fallbrook Center for the Arts offers classes in painting, drawing, printmaking, and other types of art. There are several art galleries in town, and a thriving community of artists gives the town a creative atmosphere. Fallbrook is also known for its flower farms and florists, as well as avocados. It’s known as the ‘Avocado Capital of the World’ and hosts the Avocado Festival every spring.

The climate here is mild, but, since it is about 20 miles inland from the Pacific, not as moderate as the coast. The average summer high is in the mid-80s, and the average winter low is in the mid-40s. Humidity tends to be low, with an average of 27 days of rain a year.
