Bay Park Neighborhood Guide

Bay Park has been referred to as one of the “hidden gems” of San Diego. The hilly location gives many of the buildings here beautiful views of Mission Bay. Hot new restaurants, as well as shops and entertainment venues, give you lots of choices on how to spend your evenings. There are a couple of national parks close by, convenient for hiking, bike riding, or dog walking.

This neighborhood was settled after World War II, and many of the houses were built in the 1950s. It was a quiet suburb back then, but time has turned Bay Park into a central location that’s convenient to both the beach and the city.

Most of the residences here are detached homes, with some townhouses also. The original ‘50s buildings have been remodeled and enlarged, such as by adding a second story to catch the view. The result is that no two homes look alike, giving the neighborhood a fun and diversified look. If you find suburbs full of identical box-like houses oppressive, you might want to check out Bay Park.
